What is a 3D Mock-up, and why do we use them?

During the design process we create a 3D image to better represent how your finished product will look and feel in your space. 3D renders allow us to easily and quickly show variations and angles of your sign, to ensure you are happy with your design. Mock-ups allow us to accurately show the materials, complexity, scale, and colors that will make your finished sign exactly as you envisioned.

The process for creating a mock-up begins in Adobe Illustrator where we separate the vector file into multiple layers. Each layer will be reformatted into a .svg file and extruded into Blender in order to give it the three dimensional shape as well as the desired thickness of each piece. The layers are then placed together and set at the desired distances from each other in order to bring your artwork to life.
